Product Assets Using 3D Product Visualization & Generative AI

iRobot is a global name in the household as well as commercial robotic vacuum sectors.

The Challenge

In early 2024, iRobot was searching for a reliable and innovative content partner. In order to efficiently use resources, iRobot was trying to find a content agency that could create still imagery and videos using product animation. The list of deliverables included e-commerce and lifestyle imagery, 360 rotating views, GIFs as wells as short animated videos. The company wished to rely on CGI and Generative Artificial Intelligence to generate the majority of it’s content.

The Solution

iRobot partnered with Nashbox Studios, a premier animation studio that specializes in creating product renderings and 3D animation for consumer products.

The Results

Nashbox Studios generated e-commerce product assets, styled product imagery as well as generative based images for iRobot.

Generative AI for Content Creation

For this project, we used the Generative AI platform Midjourney to create lifestyle imagery that could serve as the scenes in which the product exists in it’s usual operation. 3D Renderings of the product were then composited with. these background images to create styled images. 

In order to generate such images consistent to the required scenes, the Nashbox Studios team used previously generated similar scenes, with some additional inputs.
