Remeverse: Product Photography & Renderings

In the first month of the year, we completed a product photography project with Remeverse, a skincare and cosmetics manufacturer located in Nashville TN. Like with most companies, Remeverse is refreshing it’s website, and hence they decided to get updated visual assets as well.

The Process

One of our mentor-colleagues used to shoot for Remeverse, but he has since stopped doing product photography. The client contacted us and was very impressed with our digital renderings technology. Upon reviewing the project, we decided to split the project into two parts:

  • Some of the products essentially have the same containers, just different labels/logos. These were ideal candidates for renderings.

  • The remaining products have unique containers or shapes, and therefore were photographed.

The Images

The expectation was images for e-commerce and hence we used a white background for the products. Rendered images need little post processing, mainly color correction, exposure etc. However for photography, significant retouching is required. Product surfaces have imperfections, no matter how good the manufacturing process is. Some imperfections are acceptable, but some need to be addressed.

Behind The Scenes

Our team member Corey Gibb offers professional video services and did a little behind the scenes video for us. The intent was to highlight our process, and also showcase the resulting output of the shoot. Check it out! You can also see more of our content on the video services page.

Final Words

Digital rendering is a great complimentary technology to traditional photography. It enables indirect cost savings for the client. First, we used the studio for half day instead of full day. Same goes for an assistant - half vs full day. Add to that the time NOT required to retouch the rendered images. So, while the skill set commands a higher hourly rate, overall it turns out to be as cost effective, if not more, than photography.

“We were blown away by the beautiful photography and digital renderings done by Nashbox Studios. Their work really elevated our website! Mayur is so professional and easy to work with - he really went above and beyond providing a variety of great photographs of our skin care and cosmetics products.”
